CRA Party Committee Introduces 2013 Event Photo Contest
Following the success of our first year, the Party and Event Professionals Committee is happy to bring back the "CRA Event Photo Contest" for 2013.
As party and event rental companies, we all take, or request, photos of the events we are involved in. Nowadays, our clients are bringing in photos of events that they've found in magazines or on the web...Pintrest is a great resource not only for brides, but anyone planning an event. You can describe a look to a client, but actually showing the client that look does more for sales than anything else.
We are asking you to share with the rest of us again this year. Not only will this increase the involvement of our members, our hope is to encourage you to get photos of your events and increase your own sales.
Here's the skinny...This year's contest will run from July thru the end of November. Simply submit digital photos of your own work. Anything you have done will be fine, regardless of when the event was. There are only two things we won’t accept: Photos that are not original work and photos submitted for last year’s contest. Everything else is fair game.
Now, the incentive...The CRA Board has endorsed a $100 prize for best overall photo. In addition, many of our vendors have donated prizes for specific categories. What does this mean to you? Well, even though you may not consider some of your event photos to be as spectacular as some of the larger companies, we are also looking at qualities like use of linens, creative uses of canopies and tents, and even champagne fountain displays. Last year, we had nine different winners. Winners will be announced at the Rental Rally banquet next January in Pomona.
As of this writing, we have several CRA Associate Members who have generously contributed to this contest, and it seems to be snowballing! We will be addressing those vendors in future issues, and ongoing on our website, as they come onboard. Please keep an eye on the Journal, the CRA website, The CRA Facebook page, and the E-Newsletter for updates.
Finally, although there is no great benefit to submitting your photos early, we encourage you to send us your photos, with as much description as you would like, as soon as possible…And there is no limit as to how many photos you submit. Your photos will appear on the CRA website and the CRA Facebook page. Many of our members took advantage of the Facebook postings, and tagged their employees in the photos submitted, which increased circulation and visibility exponentially. They even shared the postings on their own company Facebook page. If you tweet, it’s even better.
Send your digital pictures and info to email@example.com. And don’t forget to visit the CRA Facebook page for more information, and to see photos from other companies…and make sure you “Like” us as well.
